I recommend filtering for volume. Check out the eBay sellers who have done several hundred gold sales or more. These are the gold bullion sellers you can trust assuming they also have a high positive feedback score. Volume indicates that they have been in the business for a while and must be doing something right. You will always end up paying a premium when you buy from a high volume seller. It's always worth it. Let's take a simple example. You buy a 1/10 ounce gold bullion American Eagle from a new seller. You get a super deal and only pay $100. Now, let's say you buy the same coin but pay $120 from a power seller. Let's say the first one ends up to be a fake and the second is real. You pay an extra $20 but isn't that better than getting something worth $0 with your hard earned investment dollars? I always go with the high volume sellers.

Try to invest regularly. Like the stock market, it's difficult to call the tops and bottoms in the coin market. Over the course of time, you will fare better by dollar cost averaging than investing a large amount at one time.
Buy gold coins.

Why not buy from a very well respected store to make the whole process easier? (As an aside, buying gold is really easy and there is no reason to be intimidated at all.) Now, let's say you have bought gold at least one time before. You're a more seasoned gold investor. Then, it's time to consider buying gold and silver investments on Ebay. Ebay offers a goldmine of opportunity if you are patient and know what you're doing. It's time to make some great investments in gold and silver coins, bars, and bullion.

The US $20 gold coin ("double eagle") has raised lettering around its rim. If the coin is uncirculated, the letters will be flat on top. If slightly rounded, and the coin is uncirculated, it is a counterfeit. However, some counterfeits do not have this defect. There are other counterfeit double eagles in which the gold and copper alloy was not thoroughly mixed. These counterfeits will have a slightly mottled appearance.
You can buy california gold coins in our store.

On my list of "do not buy" coins is those from the Franklin Mint and other premium collectibles mints (such as the Bradford Exchange, etc.) They are aggressive marketers who do sell genuine bullion coins (sometimes) but their coins usually do not have any after-market value among coin collectors and investors. You'll typically pay $45 plus for a one ounce silver coin that is only worth the value of its silver bullion when you go to sell it. (Silver bullion is at about $19 an ounce as I write this.)

Girl Scouts Commemorative Coin Legislation, Round 2

Mon, 26 Jan 2009 17:08:24 +0000

Coin to symbolize Girl Scouts commemorativeNew legislation seeking to commemorate the Girl Scouts 100th anniversary with up to 350,000 silver dollars in 2011 was reintroduced in the U.S. House of Representatives on Wednesday, January 21.

The Girl Scouts USA Centennial Commemorative Coin Act was brought back under a new bill number (H.R. 621) by Rep. Jack Kingston after the first version failed to make its way through the 110th Congress.

The Boy Scouts Centennial Commemorative Coin Act was signed into law in October of 2008, making it more likely the Girl Scouts legislation would pass as well. However, the Boy Scouts celebrate their centennial a year earlier and required quicker consideration. And the busy 2008 fall political season was less than conducive in getting many bills mustered through for passage. The new 111th Congress will now have the opportunity to help celebrate the history of the Girl Scouts. Read the rest of this numismatic news article »
